Ankle Sprains and Plantar Fasciitis are common in runners

Participating in sports like tennis, lacrosse, football, basketball or other cutting sports can increase the risk of having an ankle sprain or other lower extremity injury.  When an acute injury occurs that limits walking, it’s important to see a sports physician urgently to get the correct treatment started.  When chronic ankle pain or instability and/or foot pain limit normal or active activities, it’s time to make an appointment. There are a variety of available treatments to get patients back on the trails, field, courts or sidewalks whether pain stems from plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, toe arthritis or other sources of pain.
