When tendon pain doesn’t resolve with standard therapies, tenotomy is a minimally invasive procedure that precisely targets and removes damaged tendon via ultrasound guidance. The procedure is done using only local anesthesia and a small incision to allow probe access – no stitches needed. Tenex and Tenjet are specific tenotomy procedures each completed in under an hour. Recovery typically occurs in 6-8 weeks and activity is slowly progressed after that time. For more information, please review the “resources” tab.
